Magic painting - Candle paintings

Communication, Goal 4: Children develop skill and confidence in the processes of art and craft
You will need:
- A sheet of absorbent paper
- long thin candle
- small bowls of thinned paint (two or three different colours)
- a variety of brushes
Draw on absorbent paper using either end of the candle depending on the desired effect.
Paint over the wax design using a brush and one or more colours. The wax design resists the paint and shows through clearly.
Try using crayons instead of candles; black is most effective.
The wax design appears just like magic!
