Belonging goal 1:
Children and their families experience an environment where connecting links with the family and the wider world are affirmed and extended.
Uncooked dough
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup salt
- 1 cup water - approximately
- Powder paint or food colouring
Combine dry ingredients. Mix sufficient water to form a firm dough and knead. Knead in more flour if mixture is too sticky.
Silky dough
- 2 ½ cups flour
- ½ cup salt
- 1 ½ cups boiling water
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon cream of tartar
- Food colouring or powder paint
Mix dry ingredients. Stir in oil and boiling water. Knead well.
Salt ceramic dough
(good for making decorations and gifts)
- 1 ½cups salt
- ¾ cup cornflour
- 1 cup water
Mix in a pot. Cook on a low heat, stirring until solid. Knead immediately. Mould into shapes, leave to harden in a warm, dry place (approximately 2 days). If hanging as a decoration put hole in before it hardens.
To decorate
- Paint with food colouring or powder paint.
- Leave white, paste and sprinkle with glitter.
