I am learning the Spanish alphabet.

I am learning some cognates and how to say the Spanish vowel sounds. (Cognates are words that look or sound alike and mean the same in English e.g. fruta = fruit).

I am learning about a Spanish speaking culture.

This Unit

This unit contains four introductory lecciones. You will discuss what you already know about España or countries where Spanish is spoken. Work your way through each of the lecciones, listen to the audio tracks and complete the actividades.

About assessment

Your teacher will be checking:

• how you say your name using the Spanish alphabet (this will be a recorded activity)
• how you are progressing with your cultural activity (tell your teacher which country you are studying and something about that country).
