When you are asked to draw a graph . .

draw axes clearly with a ruler and mark them with arrows showing the positive direction of the quantities involved

 
label axes so that the quantity involved in each is clearly shown
(such as volume, mass, distance, time)

 
use an appropriate scale on each axis so that most or all of the available space on the graph paper or grid is used

 
name the units of measurement used for each axis
(such as mL , kg , m , s )

 
plot points on the graph using small neat dots or crosses

 

join plotted points with a smooth line

 
draw a line graph unless asked for another type of graph such as a bar graph

 
name the graph and show any working involved.
