Literature award for Almaas
Year 12 student Almaas Khan-Evans has been announced one of approximately 30 students from the Wellington region to receive a Katherine Mansfield Literature Award for writing.
Almaas won the award for her fantasy story, Stopping the Rain, about a six year old's experiences of witnessing a solar eclipse.
It’s the second time a TCS student has won the award and Almaas says she was surprised to win.
‘It’s a very impressive award; I didn’t think I was capable of it, but I love writing and illustrating so I’m very happy,’ she says.
Each prize winner receives a certificate and a copy of The Material Mansfield: Traces of a Writer’s Life.
